Hello My lovelies,

Summer is fast approaching, inf-act for us living in Dubai Summer season is already here in full force. If you haven’t taken the necessary precautions as yet, you need to now!. Read on to discover why we need to add Day creams to your daily routine.

Most of us are aware that during the day, our skin is subject to damaging UV rays, pollution, environmental stresses, and several side – effects of wearing makeup for prolonged hours. Even though our skin has an absolutely amazing ability to care for itself by responding constantly to changes in our internal and external environments; protection is always necessary as our skin can sometimes can be overexposed to harsh elements, leaving it imbalanced.

Day creams work in several ways to protect the skin from damaging.  Day creams are designed to moisturize and protect skin from ultraviolet rays and pollution. They contains more protective ingredients, such as UV protection as well as  anti-oxidant ingredients that go a long way in helping to protect the skin from deteriorating. Day creams are also useful for preventing skin pigmentation in the light of the sun, whilst keeping the skin hydrated as there is a possibility of skin getting increasingly dehydrated in the sun.

With so many offerings in this space, it can be a little overwhelming to identify the right cream for your needs. Thankfully, there are quite a few good brands out there offering high quality creams designed for our use during the day. Read on to understand on what constitutes a quality day cream and product recommendations from our experts.

Choosing the right day cream

A high quality day cream will not only protect your skin but will also keep it nurtured and hydrated leaving it more healthy and radiant. Keep the following tips in mind when selecting your day cream:

Avoid creams that contain lots of active ingredients:

A cream heavy on ingredients will clog your pores, making your skin look greasy and unattractive. As on most days we wear make up, it is best recommended to use a cream with a simple and light composition. The cream will not only get absorbed quickly but also not interfere with the look of your make-up. Moreover, allowing your pores to breathe.

A tip from us would be to always apply before putting on a foundation as most day creams are designed to be worn under cosmetics.

If you prefer a cream with anti-aging properties; make sure its light on compounds like alpha-hydroxy acids and retinoid as these compounds have a tendency to make skin more sensitive to the sun.

SPF Factor

We recommend choosing a day cream with a high SPF (sun protection factor) as it will not only protect you from harmful UV rays but will also prevent skin pigmentation.
